Nakwon Rim / 임낙원

Hi! I am a Ph.D. student working with Marc G. Berman (Psychology), James A. Evans (Sociology & Data Science), and Yuan Chang Leong (Psychology) at the University of Chicago.
I am broadly interested in how people compress information about the world, how this information compression shapes our cognitive processes, and how people deliver compressed information to others.

Research Interests

Information Compression

How do we compress the information from the environments surrounding us, and how does this affect our behavior?

Information Transduction

How do we deliver the (compressed) information to other people, and how does this affect our behavior?

Computational Social Science

How can we leverage the increasingly available data and powerful computational tools to answer questions about ourselves?
